Mystery City Full Playthrough

Mystery City

Mystery City was my first experience designing a game. This was my semester project for the Video Game Development course at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. I worked with three other students, one artist and two other programmers, to design and implement a short 2D point and click puzzle game in Unity. Additonally, we used Github to manage project files between the group. At the end of the semester we presented our game to the community and our peers at the Stout Game Expo 2020.

A few of the specific game features I worked on was the Player's Inventory and the conditionals that checked if the player had collected the required items or completed the required tasks in order to progress. This project taught me a lot about working in Unity, but the most valuable lessons I learned throughout this project was how to work with a team. This project was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and for a portion of the semester I was working fully remote. This expereince helped me improve my communication skills and showed me the importance of establishing team connections.
